PTA Science Fair

The JBD PTA is sponsoring the annual science fair. Today we watched "Archibald Frisby" which is a great story about a boy who loves everything that involves science. If you and your child are interested in being part of the science fair (this is totally optional) please look on the JBD website for more information at http://www.deyes.vbschools.com/

Thank You!

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for all the Valentine's donations! We really appreciate all the donations and support. Thank you very much! Thank you also for taking the time to clip coupons. Below is a copy of an awesome receipt from a recent shopping trip at Harris Teeter. The picture is a bit fuzzy, but the balance due was 59.56 and the coupon amount that was saved was 57.66! The family saved almost exactly 50 percent! I am so excited. Thank you for all your support! Together we really can make a difference:) If you know any other families at JBD or employees of JBD or volunteers at JBD who would like to have some coupons, pleaes let me know. Thanks!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Updates

Hi everyone. As many of my students and parents know I was out sick most of last week and I wasn't able to update my blog. We did have some exciting events last week- Friday was the (almost) 100th day of school. We actually had a snow day on Thursday so Friday was suppose to be the 100th day, but technically it was the 99th day. But we pretended it was the 100th anyway because the kiddos came into class on Friday morning excited from the snow day and ready to celebrate the 100th day. I just didn't have the heart to tell them they had to wait until Monday and none of the kiddos realized that it wasn't technically the 100th day. Today we are celebrating Valentine's Day. We also donated over 120 cans to the local food pantry which we collected to celebrate the 100th day. I think I am basically caught up on emails, but if you emailed me last week and I haven't responded please email me again. Thanks!

Partner Problem Solving

We had Mrs. Lister's second grade class visit our afternoon class to help create a heart art project. The students had to work together with a second grade buddy to trace, cut, and glue the project. Great job kindergarteners and thank you second graders for all your help!

We Love IPads

Officer Ryan Webb recently read a story to our class and afterwards the kiddos were so excited to show off the IPad. We are lucky to have Officer Webb visit our classroom for a second year as a kindergarten friend and mentor.

How could JBD buy 21 IPads to use in school? Click here for more information
